County offices to close for Memorial Day, May 27

Pinellas County, Florida -- Pinellas County government offices will be closed on Monday, May 27, in observance of Memorial Day.

The courts of the Sixth Judicial Circuit (Pinellas and Pasco) will not be in session on Monday, May 27, except for first-appearance advisory hearings and emergency situations.

The Solid Waste Administration Building and HEC3 will be closed on Monday, May 27. The scalehouse/landfill will remain open.

The Florida Botanical Gardens and all county parks will remain open.

Pinellas County Animal Services close on May 21

St. Petersburg, Florida -- Pinellas County Animal Services will be closed on Tuesday, May 21 for in-service day. 

This will affect the Pinellas County Animal Services located at 12450 Ulmerton Road in largo.

Regular business hours, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., will resume on May 22. 

Health and Human Services offices close temporarily

Health and Human Services offices close temporarily

Pinellas County, Florida -- Pinellas County’s department of Health and Human Services’ Veterans Services office will close for staff training from Monday, May 6, to Thursday, May 9, at its two locations:

  • 2189 Cleveland St., Suite 230, Clearwater
  • 647 First Ave. N., St. Petersburg

All Health and Human Services offices will close on Friday, May 10, at 11 a.m.

Survey says residents’ optimism is growing

Pinellas County, Florida -- In a Pinellas County citizen research survey, results showed a growing sense of optimism, positive sentiment and trust in county government.

This is the third consecutive year that Pinellas County has conducted a statistically valid citizen survey, with the first year used to collect feedback on residents’ priorities in the midst of budget reductions.

Pinellas County, Florida -- From the historical structures at Heritage Village to the wide-open sandy vistas of Fort De Soto Park, Pinellas County has a number of parks, preserves and other ideal locations for events.

Whether it is a dream wedding, concert or a 5K run on the Pinellas Trail, there are certain requirements that need to be met. In some cases, several Pinellas County departments, and perhaps even state or local municipal departments, may need to be involved in the planning.

Brooker Creek Exhibit Hall remains closed through Friday

Pinellas County, Florida -- The Brooker Creek Preserve Environmental Education Center Exhibit Hall and Welcome Center will remain closed through Friday, April 19, due to flooding from a burst water supply line. The extended closure is necessary for cleanup and evaluation of the extent of moisture damage.

The classroom building and restrooms are not affected by the flooding and will remain open for all previously scheduled activities. Trails will also be open to visitors as usual.
